Transsiberian trip. Wow! Interested?

Taking the Trans Siberian rail trip has been one of my biggest dreams for decades. A few years back I found a friend willing to go with me. We planned the trip for three years!

Finally, the big day came. Unfortunately, we ended up being restricted to only traveling as far as Lake Baikal. Lake Baikal is not called the world's most beautiful lake for nothing! Fortunately, we spent five of the most memorable weeks of my life cruising the lake.

After that experience, I would definitely recommend both the trip AND having a native help you with logistics. True, it's a bit easier today with cell phones and all -- but still -- there are many unexpected difficulties where a native can be invaluable.
