Russian podcast for 6th April, 2010. This is a detailed news overview with translation mainly aimed at advanced level students. Lots of useful expressions from the language of Russian media.
I decided to make a news overview once a week covering the most important events that took place during the week. Most of the Russian material is directly taken from Russian news sites such as Yandex and Rambler. This is for advanced learners of Russian so if you don't understand it or it seems too overwhelming maybe you're not there yet. But if you continue to apply enough efforts you'll get there. Remember, just like with anything - you only lose when you give up. So don't give up and learn one Russian lesson per day. And I'll be there to give you a hand. All news items are accompanied by useful words and expressions. Try repeating after me to master pronunciation. Ok, so here I present my first detailed Russian language news podcast. Enjoy.

Украина назвала цену на российский газ
Россия будет продавать газ на Украину во втором квартале 2010 года по 330 долларов за тысячу кубометров. Стоимость газа для Украины пересчитывается ежеквартально и зависит от цен на нефть на мировом рынке с девятимесячным опозданием. Это позволяет Киеву приблизительно представлять, сколько он будет платить за импортное топливо заранее.
Ukraine announced the price for Russian natural gas
Russia will be selling gas to Ukraine in the 2nd quarter of 2010 at $330 per 1,000m3.The price of gas is recalculated quarterly and depends on the world oil prices with a 9-month lag.
This allows Kiev to approximately understand how much it's going to pay for the import fuel upfront.
