Russian ABC - Russian Alphabet
Let's start with the Russian basics - first off let's learn the Russian ABC! It's really not that difficult to learn the Russian ABC as it may seem. The good thing is that most Russian words sound just the way they're written. For example, БАРАБАН (a drum) is composed of the corresponding sounds Б+А+Р+А+Б+А+Н. Each letter has a name and a sound just like in English. The Russian alphabet is also called the Cyrillic alphabet. There are 33 letters: 11 vowels, 20 consonants, and 2 letters with no sound.
А Б В Г Д Е Ё Ж З И Й К Л М Н О П Р С Т У Ф Х Ц Ч Ш Щ Ъ Ы Ь Э Ю Я
Now many of these letters coincide with Latin letters:
А В Е К М Н О Р С Т
And the rest are unique :
Б Г Д Ё Ж З И Й Л У Ф Х П Ц Ч Ш Щ Ъ Ы Ь Э Ю Я
I now recommend watching the Russian ABC video .
